New site, full kit, and a freebie challenge!

Hey everyone!  I've been absent, huh?  I've been working on a new blog where I will be posting my digital scrapbooking designs.  It's called A Bit Bloggish and I'll also post little tidbits of my life here and there, too.

I have my first full kit up over there right now with a freebie challenge.  The kit is called Fresh and Clean.  The kit and freebie previews are below:

Visit this link for the Fresh and Clean kit to see the rules for the challenge and a chance to win the kit for free. Everyone participating will also receive a 50% discount code to be used on any current or future purchase.

There's a new Facebook page as well, so be sure to check things out there. Once again, the new site is A Bit Bloggish.

Thanks, everyone!

All about image hosting sites

This is the first part of a series intended to help personal bloggers design their own blogs.

What is image hosting and why is it necessary?
Imagine you have designed the rockingest blog header EVER and you want it to show up on your blog.  Currently, it is stored on your computer's hard drive.  No one else can see it because they (hopefully) do not have access to your hard drive.  Enter the image hosting site.

Changes!

Hi everyone!  I have some announcements to make:
  1. I am joining a fabulous team of bloggers in September and I will be responsible for the posts on blog designs.  So.... I am taking down the posts I have on those here and "saving them up" for the new site.  Look for that soon!
  2. I have added a custom blog design page.  Check it out and tell me what you think.
  3. The digital scrapooking goodies are going to go back to being free!  It is not cost effective for me to pay for making them purchasable so they will go back to being free and maybe this will help drive some traffic for the custom designs.
Look for all the links to the freebies to be up in the next few days.

UPDATE:  I've also added a premade blog design page and switched what used to be a blog wear kit to a premade blog design for purchase.

UPDATE THE FINAL:   I just don't think I can commit to custom or even premade blog designs right now.  We are starting the new homeschool year here in a few weeks.  Between that, the kids' activities, housework and just simply spending time with the family, I don't think it's the season for custom work in any form.  So, for now, all things are free again!  Tutorials up soon for using the backgrounds and headers.

What is and How do I? - blogging

This post attempts a very brief explanation of the following questions:
  1. What is a blog?
  2. Why do people blog?
  3. Why do people read blogs?
  4. How do I start a blog?
I will be answering these questions with the personal, not the professional or business blogger, in mind.  Ready?  Let's start.
